December 21, 2009, Bethesda, Md. – For the first time in its 91-year history, IAAPA Attractions Expo 2009 set up shop in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 16-20. The results exceeded expectations. Optimism and eager buyers filled the aisles, energizing the marketplace and solidifying the Expo as the main event for the attractions industry.
Preliminary estimates indicate 24,000 people, including approximately 14,700 buyers, from 108 nations made their way to the Las Vegas Convention Center to participate in the world’s largest conference and trade show for the $24 billion attractions industry. This represents a 17 percent increase in buyers compared to IAAPA Attractions Expo 2008 in Orlando, Florida! Buyers represent amusement parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, museums, resorts, independent attractions, and casinos from around the world.
Participants attended more than 100 education programs on industry trends and hot topics, participated in a number of networking events and behind-the-scenes tours around Las Vegas, and shopped for new products on the trade show floor. The South Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center were packed with exhibits from 1,074 companies that displayed their innovative new products and services on 405,000 net square feet of space on the trade show floor.
IAAPA Attractions Expo is owned and produced by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and serves as the marketplace for amusement parks and attractions industry leaders, decision makers, and visionaries who gather to network, view the latest innovations, and plan for the future. Fixation has handled the marketing efforts for IAAPA Attractions Expo for nearly a decade.
The next IAAPA Attractions Expo will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, November 15-19, 2010.
