Can Manufacturers Win Top Prize in Website and Direct Mail Design

Bethesda, MD—Fixation Marketing is proud to collaborate with the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) on their award-winning campaign to raise awareness around aluminum and steel as the sustainable and smart solution for food and beverage packaging.

The B2B campaign received gold from the Association TRENDS’ 2013 All Media Contest for its dedicated sustainability microsite,, and direct marketing piece. The promotional elements were part of an industry engagement initiative, which also includes earned and paid media, event sponsorships and speaking opportunities.

The campaign site was created as a single-page responsive design—built to optimize the user’s experience across desktops, mobile or tablets—to highlight the key aspects, from recyclability to economic impact, that make cans a smart packaging solution. The dimensional direct mail piece, delivered to 25,000 food and beverage packaging professionals, captures the reader with a custom can illustration to help highlight the same core selling points.

The Association TRENDS All Media Contest is an annual competition held exclusively for associations, recognizing the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry over the prior year. The 2013 competition included a record 467 entries in 22 categories of association communications.
