Fixation Clients Made Progress Despite Government Shutdown

Bethesda, MD—Many of Fixation’s trade association clients have government relations departments whose work is closely tied to Capitol Hill. But when the Federal government slowed to a halt this fall, the tradeshow organizers continued to operate full steam ahead and kept Fixation busy, as well. The result was two very successful shows.

Following our collaboration on an 18-month exhibit sales and year-long attendee marketing campaign, Fixation and PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, celebrated record-breaking participation at PMMI’s PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013, September 23 – 25. The trade show grew 15 percent in exhibit space and number of suppliers over the previous (also record-breaking) 2011 show, and topped 27,500 attendees for a 7 percent gain.

A week after PACK EXPO, the Shop.org Annual Summit 2013 drew record numbers of digital retail trendsetters from around the world to McCormick Place in Chicago for the three-day event. Fixation has partnered with Shop.org, digital retail division of the National Retail Federation, on attendee marketing campaigns for the past two Summits.

“Our clients’ trade shows are so important to advancing their respective industries,” commented Jean Whiddon, President and CEO of Fixation. “While much of Washington was at a standstill, it was good to see these events driving economic progress to the extent that they did.”
