Fixation Marketing hires DC creative veteran as agency Creative Director
Bethesda, MD—Washington advertising and creative veteran Mike Gallagher has recently been named Creative Director at Fixation Marketing in Bethesda, Maryland.
“Our agency was in a position to start providing even greater value to our clients,” said Jean Whiddon, Fixation’s President & CEO. “Mike’s association experience and his strong background in strategy and message development positions us to do just that. We were ready for someone with Mike’s creative chops’ and we’re very excited to have him here.”
Prior to joining Fixation, Mike was running his own media-agnostic creative consultancy, where clients included The Kellogg Foundation, NASA, the IRS, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
His experience also includes time as Senior Vice President, Creative Director at Porter Novelli, where he was instrumental in the development and growth of the Broadcast, Creative & Digital Group. There he led the team that created the award-winning Energy Guys campaign for the Propane Energy & Research Council. Other clients included SeaWorld, Wyeth and the American Forest & Paper Association.
Prior to Porter Novelli, Mike worked at one of the Washington region’s creative hotspots, Arnold Worldwide, as a copywriter before being promoted to Creative Director and Group Head. DC United, The Society of the Plastics Industry, McDonald’s, DeWalt and ExxonMobil all received award-winning work from Mike and his teams.
Asked why he was eager to take the creative reins at Fixation, Mike stated, “Fixation’s business model is an impressive one. Any agency that’s been growing during the past few years must be doing something right. Their strong creative product and top-notch client service have something to do with that… that and not being tithed to corporate offices in New York or elsewhere. I’m fortunate to be part of such a remarkable company.”
